The Estate of William Lawton

In Her Majestys Surrogate Court of the County of Middlesex.

Be it known that on the Twenty Eighth day of June in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and seventy three the last Will and Testament of William Lawton late of the Township of Mosa in the County of Middlesex Yeoman who died on or about the fifth day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and seventy two, at the said Township of Mosa and who at the time of his death had a fixed place of abode at the Township of Mosa in the said County of Middlesex was proved and registered in the said Surrogate Court a true copy of which last Will and Testament is hereunder written and that the administration of all and singular the Personal Estate and effects, rights and credits of the said deceased and in any way concerning his Will was granted by the aforesaid Court to William Short of the City of London Mason and Richard Raycroft of the Township of Mosa in the said County Yeoman the Executor named in the said will they having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same by paying the just debts of the deceased and the legacies contained in his Will so far as they are thereunto bound by law and to exhibit a true and perfect Inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects rights and credits and to render a just and true account of their executorship whenever required by law so to do

Copy of the last Will and Testament of William Lawton late of the Township of Mosa in the County of MiddlesexYeoman deceased.

This is the last Will and Testament of Mr William Lawton of the Township of Mosa in the County of Middlesex, Province Ontario Yeoman made this sixth day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred and seventy two as follows.

I give and bequeath all my Messuages lands tenaments and hereditamants and all my household furniture cash money goods and chattels and all other my real and personal property estate and effects whatsoever and whensoever unto my son Charles Lawton his heirs Executors administrators and assigns to and for his and their own absolute benefit and use according to the nature and quality thereof respectively subject to the following conditions viz;

1st He is to maintain my wife Maria Lawton during her lifetime. Also to give to her the cow and calf she nowhas in poseession for her sole use and benefit.

2nd He is to give to my son Philip Lawton the sum of Fifty Dollars on demand after my death. Also to my sonWilliam Lawton the sum of one dollar on demand.

3rd He is to give to each of my Daughters Mary Short and Maria Lawton the sum of Fifty Dollars lawful money of Canada on their demand. Also he is to pay all my just debts funeral expenses testamentary fe and charges of proving and registering this my will.

And I appoint William Short of the City of London Mason and Richard Raycroft of the Township of Mosa Yeomansole executors of this my last will and testament.

In Witness whereof I have herunto set my hand seal this the 6th day of May in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and seventy two.
